Hi All-

My first post- how exciting!  Was wondering if anyone else feels the way I do about S&A 5th (or 4th, for that matter).  I just got through the first three chapters after switching from M&T. I am struggling to decide whether I regret this or not.

Do any of your schools give faculty teaching credit for doing undergraduate research? It seems like some of you have a required senior thesis and you get some credit for supervising some number of those.

Are there any other ways you're "rewarded" for supervising undergraduate research?

I am going to do a group meeting on Friday with my students to discuss this blog and its associated articles.  I want to alert them to the possibile realities of grad school, and traits to look for (and avoid) in potential advisors.

Any thoughts?
