A student should be able to apply their knowledge of Lewis acid-base theory to predict the amino acids that will bind a particular metal.
A student should be able to apply their knowledge of transition metal oxidation states to predict whether the metal can play a redox role.
A student should be able to apply their knowledge of VSEPR to predict structure.
