yes, but.... I have asked too often "why isn't your setup drawn in your notebook?", only to have a student respond, "I took a photo"... so why isn't *that* in your notebook?...

One of my students took a picture of the set up when we did the vacumm transfer of solvent. He later printed the picture and attached it on his lab notebook. It looked so nice. I showed his notebook to other students and encourage them to do the same thing.
