Dear Colleagues,

Does anyone have any good strategies for teaching MO theory?  I am teaching an inorganic course with juniors and seniors. My approach has been to have them review basic MO theory from general chemistry, then go into the ligand group orbital approach for polyatomics. If you have ideas, please let me know.

I do.  And I have been in the process of writing it up for JCE for the past 5 years.  I may eventually give up, break it into chunks, and post it here.  I have already posted some of it:  https://www.ionicviper.org/class-activity/generating-lgos-salcs

let me know if you want by email and I can send you a draft of the article I'm not actually working on ...

Hey Adam,

Send me the "article" by email.  I am sure it will help me teach this better during Fall 2011!
