Anyone know a good, fundamental resource that would lay out the basics of EPR for someone trying to use the technique for the first time? Something that starts assuming genchem/intro inorganic levels of knowledge would be ideal!

What you ask for is difficult to come by, Scott.  I am an EPR spectroscopist, or was in a former life, and I can't think of one.  The section in Drago is pretty good, but I've never really seen anything that builds from the intro levels. Your best best though is to equate it to NMR (pulsed NMR).

I just stumbled across a brief introductory account of ESR/EPR in Housecraft and Sharpe, Inorganic Chemistry, 4th ed. (Pearson) in Chapter 4 (specifically, pp. 116-120). In general I really like this chapter, which describes experimental methods for characterization nicely and in a practical and useful way..
