Hello all,
Just wanted to let you know that there will be a "home" for inorganic education at ACS next spring. I'm organizing a symposium on "Advances in Teaching Inorganic Chemistry" symposium cosponsored by the CHED and INOR divisions. Hopefully there will be lots of interest in the community for us to share more thoughts and best practices for teaching the central science of the central science. It would be great for VIPEr to be represented there as well!
I hope you'll consider presenting a paper in this symposium. You can't miss it in the oasys system, since it's the first on the CHED symposium list.
Have a great weekend,
Keith W.
Thanks for posting this Keith! I hope you get many abstracts from VIPEr users. I know that members of the IONiC Leadership Council are planning to contribute to your symposium.
I also wanted to bring another symposium that will be held at the ACS Salt Lake City meeting to the attention of VIPEr users. In the Division of Inorganic Chemistry, I am co-organizing a symposium together with Will Lynch from Armstrong Atlantic State University called "Undergraduate Research at the Frontiers of Inorganic Chemistry." We will have oral sessions and a poster session, and we are soliciting abstract contributions from both faculty and from undergraduates to present in our symposium. The key requirement is that the presentation describes inorganic chemistry research conducted by undergraduates. If you are a registered VIPEr user, you will be receiving an e-mail shortly with more details. You can find us at the bottom of the INOR list of symposia on OASYS.

A giant thank you to everyone who submitted abstracts for the Salt Lake City ACS meeting. And an equally giant thank you to the organizers.
I have put Keith, Will, and Maggie's symposia below in chronological order. The links should take you directly to the full list of titles and speakers for each symposium.
If you find any mistakes in the list, please let me know right away and I'll fix it!

Thanks to all that participated today in the CHED inorganic symposium. We had a great discussion, and (at one point) 38 people in the room! We all should make sure that this symposium becomes an annual one!
Cheers,
Keith
