The Center for Enabling New Technologies through Catalysis (CENTC), a NSF funded Center for Chemical Innovation, invites applications for its 2009 Undergraduate Summer Research Program.  Fellowships are available which provide competitive stipends as well as compensation for travel and housing.  Students may choose to work in any one of 16 different research groups at 12 institutions in the US and Canada.  Program is 8-10 weeks with flexible starting dates depending on institution and includes research in a nationally known lab, career development activities with peers and mentors throughout the center and instruction from scientists from academia, industry and national labs.  Applications and more information can be found at http://depts.washington.edu/centc/education.htm.  No previous research experience is required.  Students from departments with limited research opportunities and those from populations underrepresented in chemistry are encouraged to apply.  Application deadline is February 21, 2009.  Contact Eve Perara, centcdeo@chem.washington.edu, with questions.
