Santa Clara University is a highly ranked Catholic Jesuit university located in Silicon Valley. Our department has an ACS-approved undergraduate program and a vigorous undergraduate research environment. The diverse set of instrumentation within our department, School of Engineering, and at the Center for Nanostructures on campus strengthens our undergraduate research programs and links STEM researchers on campus. The department is currently moving to the new Sobrato Center for Discovery and Innovation, a state-of-the-art teaching/research facility that opens this fall and will house the department offices, research labs, and classrooms. Our location within the Bay Area enables our lively seminar program and builds collaborations with other local universities, government labs, and industry. With the support of this network, the successful candidate is expected to build an externally funded undergraduate research program, excel at teaching, and contribute to the Department/ University goals.

The University, and our department specifically, is committed to excellence through diversity and inclusion, and, in this spirit, particularly welcomes applications from women, persons of color, and members of historically underrepresented groups. We appreciate any ways you can help us build a Department and alumni who will be successful in increasing diversity, inclusion, and access to chemistry and biochemistry education both in the laboratory and in the classroom.
