Applications are invited for a postdoctoral researcher in organometallic chemistry at Reed College, in the laboratory of Prof. Mir Bowring. This is a full-time, one-year position with the possibility of renewal based on performance and the availability of funding. The start date is flexible; June 2024 is preferred. 

The successful candidate will carry out research projects in mechanistic organometallic chemistry with a focus on large kinetic isotope effects. They will also help manage the laboratory and mentor undergraduate researchers. They will receive mentorship in each of these areas, along with other areas such as grant writing and career building.

Reed College is a primarily undergraduate institution with a strong focus on undergraduate research. The Bowring lab has a well-equipped 600 sq ft lab space containing two gloveboxes, four fume hoods with Schlenk lines, and a temperature-controlled UV-vis spectrometer. Departmental resources will include a new 400 MHz NMR spectrometer, single crystal X-ray diffractometers, FT-IR spectrometers, and other analytical tools.
