Dear Colleagues,

Have you worked with P4S10? One of my colleagues is looking for some guidance on using it. Did you only open it in a glovebox or glove bag? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Sibrina,

I worked with lanthanide thiophosphates (Er and Gd PS4) as an undergrad at Gonzaga University with Dave Cleary. They were made under air-free conditions in a tube furnace, but were fairly air stable as far as I can remember. I'm not sure what kind of a beast P4S10 is, but perhaps you could have your colleague get in touch with Cleary.

Thanks Kevin. I found an article to help this student. I am so glad the student really thought about the safety precautions. She ended up using a glove bag.
