Reflection Piece 1

My journey as a fellow has at times been both helped and hindered by the pandemic.  The need to integrate more online resources and reassess how to deliver content has made me very reflective on what are the most effective approaches for the student mindset that has also been shaped by trying to learn from multiple platforms. Until this workshop, my interaction with the other fellows has been limited to occasional zoom meetings and some social media feeds.  These last few days at the workshop have really provided an opportunity to discuss and learn from colleagues who are teaching inorganic chemistry in a variety of academic ecosystems.  The pedagogical approaches discussed coupled with the vast online resources (and more importantly how to navigate those resources) will undoubtedly strengthen the courses I teach.  Most importantly though is the sense of joining the community, learning the connections to other fellows and developing relationships that I have confidence that will continue far into the future.
