You may have seen my Tweet about looking forward to the announcment of the most read author of 2016. I really am! Hopefully it will be a friend of VIPEr. And I am really excited about our sessions which will all be held in room 2016 in the Moscone Center. We start off Sunday morning at 9 am with eight talks in the coordination chemistry session. This will be followed at 1:30 by nine talks in the organometallic chemistry session. That wraps up at 4:45 pm and I'll have to slither pretty quickly to Hall D for the poster session from 5:30-7:30 pm. Monday morning is the awards sympsium which will be outstanding. I'll try and slither through the expo after that before getting to the nine talks in our solid state and materials chemistry session at 1:30 pm. After that I'll be sure to be at our social hour at the Pin Up from 5-7 pm. From there it is back to the Moscone Center for Sci-Mix from 8-10 pm. Our last session, the bioninorganic session, will have nine talks and run Tuesday morning from 9am-12:20 pm. Hopefully I'll get to sneak off to some other sessions after that. I really look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones in all the craziness that is a national meeting. So, why the grumpy title? Well, I have already had discussions with the leadership council and I will NOT be hung along with the posters. I will bite people if they ever even suggest using thumb tacks to hang me next to a poster again. With that problem resolved the next big problem is my travel arrangements. I am not a total diva so I am not expecting to fly first class. But you would think I would warrant better treatment than it looks like I am going to be getting. I have heard Chip saying things like 'Flo will fit in my suitcase' and 'maybe we can stuff Flo in the poster tube'. I think someone is going to be getting a good bite or two if he thinks he can just stuff me in a poster tube. Or maybe I'll bide my time until we board the plane...I can see it now "Snakes on a Plane 2: Flo's Revenge".
