This is a workshop with IONiC VIPEr.

You have to imagine this being sssung...loudly (and poorly) to the tune of Captain Jack Sssparrow. Yes, the LC is having some fun at the workshop. But there is also some really incredible work being done. You can check the ssschedule here for the details, but I wanted to give you a little update.
We began the week with an awesome group meal on Sunday. Right after that Joanne told us our learning outcomes for the week... lots of work. Monday was a busy day. There were many presentations related to fundamental knowledge in organometallic chemistry and how to teach with a literature discussion. Ssssssshirley Lin learned what it meant to be a participant leader - or is that a leader participant? My participantsss not only partook in the literature discussion, but they also helped make a grading rubric for it. This inspired resident LC organic chemist and guru of assessment, Jeff Raker, to create his firssst ever LO.
Melanie Sssanford and Oleg Ozerov gave excellent talks on Tuesday. I was exhausted but the participants were invigorated by the talks and discussions. The participants have been really busy working on creating a diverse array of LOs that they brought with them to the workshop. They'll be even busier tomorrow after Elon Issson and Nate Ssszymczak Look for lots of new LOs from our participants in the next few days.
Organometallica rocks!
