So I know we have LOs and discussions about what people do on the first day of class.  Does anyone do anything cool or interesting on the last day of class?  I have actually stayed on (actually even 1 day ahead) of my syllabus this semester and have some wiggle room to think about how to wrap up the semester.  Crazy and fun ideas welcome.

I'm very curious to hear ideas from others - I can't think of anything special that I do. The last day often seems to be a bit of a letdown. Where I went to college, students applauded the professor at the end of the last class.  I wouldn't mind if that became a tradition everywhere!

Amanda - It's probably too late to implement this, but I like to let the students drive the last day of class. I let them each write down an idea that they're struggling with. I then take these idea, raid some old exams (the multiple choice parts) and give these questions out in class as an in class activity. The students work in groups and we come together to discuss concepts that are particularly troubling.

This morning I read a fun piece on having your students end the semester by writing a letter that reflects on the semester to the future students in the class. I guess this is better as an assignment, but it could be interesting to try in class.
