Hello,

Has anyone been through a renovation or new building process? Can you share lessons learned about how to (and how to not) go about this? What was your planning process? How did you stage the actual construction? Recommendations for where to start investigating lab configuration options?

Our physical sciences building (housing our Earth & Environment, Physics, and Chemistry departments) is now 50 years old and in dire need of renovation. We are told that our hoods can no longer be repaired! Eeek! So we are just starting the process of planning what to do about this and are concerned about how to best plan for how to improve our building and program while maintaining productivity.

If you have lessons you would rather not share publicly, feel free to email me directly at kplass@fandm.edu.

Thanks very much!
